Biography

Samuel C. “Sam” D'Aquilla served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District from 1993 to 1996. He opened his private practice in Jackson, Louisiana in 1993 and served as a Public Defender in both East and West Feliciana Parish from 1996 to 2002 while operating his private practice.

His parents are The Hon. William H. "Billy" D'Aquilla, Mayor of St. Francisville, and Yolanda D'Aquilla. He is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jackson, Louisiana.

Sam served in both the Navy and Marine Corps serving our country. His work as a prosecutor, public defender, and private practice attorney broadened his field of legal expertise and gave him a working knowledge of the judicial system that is invaluable to him as District Attorney for East and West Feliciana Parish. He was also elected as a school board member in East Feliciana Parish. Sam is also a member of the Feliciana Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the Knights of Columbus, the Feliciana Chamber of Commerce, St. Francisville Chamber of Commerce and St. Albans Masonic Lodge #28 F&AM. He has served as legal counsel on the Zachary-Taylor Parkway and is still an active member.

D'Aquilla is an experienced attorney dedicated to the Felicianas and bringing the 20th Judicial District into the 21st century. He has equipped his offices with the technology, personnel, and resources necessary to review, research, and exchange information with other District Attorney, law enforcement, state, federal, and local agencies, as well as other entities vital to the everyday operation of his office and ensuring that criminals are prosecuted, victim's rights are secured, and justice is served.
